I like to feel content. After a long run, a big meal or an honest day’s work, content is the feeling that I have. I remember my ex hated to feel content. She thought it was boring. But to me content is peace.
These days it seems like I have more peace in my life. There is less judgment and more acceptance. That has not always been easy for me. Probably because of my own insecurities I have often found fault with others. Or if someone else was different it took me a long time to accept them. As I get older I find it easier to accept others for who they are.
We all have faults. We are not born perfect as some people would have us believe. In fact , when we are born we are total babies. If we did not grow up, life would be miserable for all of the people around us and for ourselves. Maturity is a blessing. It is something that is earned. When maturity is missing from our lives our lives are not very happy. We are always trying to pleasure ourselves without any real thought about others. When we start trying to help others, we find real happiness in our lives.

I know myself and what I want at this stage of life, and I’m confident with who that is. It’s freeing.
